About Me

I have recently completed my undergraduate studies at Oxford, and am currently enrolled on a post-graduate course in Law before taking a job at a leading international law firm at the start of next year. Generally I am happy to teach English (up to and including undergraduate level), History, Economics, Government and Politics (up to A-Level (and IB equivalent)) as well as Critical Thinking, General Studies, Extended Project and 11+. Further I have experience helping students prepare applications and interview skills for university and college applications (especially Oxbridge, having received offers to study at both Oxford and Cambridge).

In my spare time I play for my local football team, practice the piano, ski, and read (a lot!)

Tutor Experience

Having been tutored myself between the age of 10-11, and having tutored others over the last few years, I recognise the importance of a flexible and personal approach to the process of learning; what works for one does not work for all. I realise that students will want different things out of their lessons. For some it will be a rigorous application of the prescribed curriculum in preparation for a certain exam/set of exams, others may want to explore an area of interest more generally, as a supplement to their everyday schooling. I believe I am a tutor who can cater to both types of student.

My experience teaching students of all ages, of all backgrounds, from all parts of the world, affords me a firm basis for tutoring in my specified subject areas. Feedback I have received describes me as engaging, personable, yet demanding. From my own education I realise that we learn most efficiently when stretched, and this is the ethos I hope to instil in others; the ability to cope when made to think about topics in different ways, and being able to derive enjoyment from doing so.

I have recently completed my undergraduate studies at Oxford, and am currently enrolled on a post-graduate course. I am therefore very much still engaged with the process of learning. I can be flexible with my time, and am happy to discuss and talk through any sort of lesson plan or specific subject area (from those specified in my profile) you feel best suits your needs.
