About Me

I'm a mathematician by trade, starting out on the mathematics course at the University of Oxford. In my undergraduate mathematics course I specialised in applied mathematics - particularly subjects such as fluid mechanics and electromagnetism. Finally, in my last year at Oxford, I switched to the (then) new course in mathematical and theoretical physics, going on to specialise in plasma physics.

My PhD research is on the theory of electron-positron plasmas. Essentially, I study how charged particles move and interact with each other in electromagnetic fields.

I still consider myself to be an "applied maths omnivore" and to this date have published over 10 research articles in leading journals on topics ranging from global warming to the Sun.

Tutor Experience

I am now a mathematical physicist by trade with over 10 publications in leading journals and a proven track record of success as both a researcher and as a tutor. I studied mathematics, followed by mathematical and theoretical physics, at the University of Oxford, graduating with distinction in 2017.

I now specialise in helping bright young mathematicians and physicists secure top grades and places at the most competitive Universities, with a proven track record of Oxbridge success.

2020-2021 University admission success stories:

This year I have **7** students interviewing at Oxford and Cambridge!

Mathematics (2)
Mathematics and Computer Science (2)
Mathematics and Philosophy (1)
Physics and Philosophy (1)
Engineering (1)

2019-2020 Success stories:

1. A tutee going on to study physics at Oxford after achieving a clean sweep of A* grades at A-level.
2. 100% success rate for first choice University admission in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
3. 100% of tutees achieving their target grade or above.

Teaching is my passion and I have tutored mathematics and physics for over 8 years, giving 1000's of hours of online tuition in the process.

I have tutored all major exam boards and optional modules from KS2 through to graduate level.

Testimonials

"Thank you so much Daniel! I really feel so much better about my course now and that the methods you’ve helped explain really make the problems more tractable. Already looking forward to our next session." Sarah - University maths.

"Lewis says you're the best maths teacher he's ever had!" Mother of Lewis - IGCSE maths and IGCSE physics.

"Great experience and my son is very happy with your tutoring and wants to do more with you. Nael is so much more confident and really seems to be enjoying maths so much more since he started maths lessons with you. Excellent tutoring and I’ll be sure to recommend.“ Mother of Nael - IGCSE maths.
