About Me
I have taught internationally in Tanzania and Mexico for four years and I believe this gives me the ability to see a subject from many different contexts. I have been working back in the UK for the last six years and am currently the Head of a thriving English Department. I am adventurous, not only in my personal life, but in my teaching style and this is reflected in my success with students. I also obtained a Masters qualification in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
Tutor Experience
I am a current Head of Department of English in a thriving Outstanding school in the north of England. English regularly outperforms the other subjects in our school due to a focus on excellence and outstanding teaching and learning. I have been teaching for ten years, with experience in GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and International A Levels. I also have exam training for Edexcel and complete regular in depth training before each exam season. I believe in careful, methodical teaching that uses high quality models and rigorous feedback to propel students forward. My attitude is friendly, enthusiastic and calm, allowing me to bring out the best in students.
