I went back to university when my three daughters were at primary school. I started out with a law degree and ended up with a PhD! I am also French, and so completely bilingual. I am an active member of a charity whose aim is to visit isolated elderly people. Outside of work I like walking my dogs, practicing yoga, murdering my ukulele, reading and baking, but what I love most of all is spending time with family and friends.
I have gained my tutoring experience from being a sessional lecturer at the University of Reading where I taught Public Law tutorials to second year undergraduates. I like to interact with my students in order to understand where they're at in their learning. I then deploy various methods to get them to understand the topic at hand, until they do! I use interactive participation and current affairs to illustrate the subject matter and improve learning.
My class was very helpful and glad I picked Julie as my tutor because she really took her time to explain everything and made sure I understood each point before carrying on with the session.
