About Me
My passion is to enable students to enjoy maths, or at least to succeed in passing their exams, including those who hate maths or those who have problems learning generally.
I use a wide variety of teaching methods and resources - including visual , written and electronic- to ensure this objective with each individual.
I regularly attend conferences to learn about new teaching methods and resources and generally mix with other maths teachers and tutors..
Most of my students gain 2 or more grades, especially at GCSE.
My other interests include languages, French particularly , history, music and learning about developments in science.
Tutor Experience
I taught for many years in FE colleges with students who had not got hold of maths at school.
I have now been tutoring for 20 years, at KS3 , GCSE, IGCSE Students and parents comment on their increase in confidence and loss of fear. Particularly successful with those with slow learning, dyslexia, autism and other learning differences.
I work to the individual student's pace and preferred learning methods and am noted for my patience.
I particularly help students to read interpret and answer wordy questions which they often avoid in exams.

I have a maths degree and teaching qualifications and have helped many students achieve their goals including those written off by schools or marooned in inappropriate classes.
