I have been in Adult General Nursing since 1997. I have worked across S-Wales and the S-West in hospitals and the community. Throughout my career I have worked in multi-disciplinary teams and have experience teaching other fields of Nursing. I find teaching very rewarding and it's nice to see the students progress. I have published articles on my research and get great job satisfaction passing on my knowledge and skills to students.
Teaching roles I have held include as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing and Skills Tutor at Cardiff University, Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead for the new Future Nurse curriculum at The University of The West of England. I have mostly worked on the undergraduate programme teaching and assessing a variety of subjects and skills across all four fields of Nursing, as well as facilitating module development and progress. I have also taught on post-graduate courses such as work-based projects and advanced nursing practice and prescribing towards a Masters degree. I have a Nurse Prescriber qualification.
General Adult Nursing, physiology and pharmacology, clinical skills, evidence-based practice, research, dissertations, A-E assessment, professionalism, advanced decision-making and assessment, communication, reflective practice, Intermediate Care, Multi-disciplinary working. I can generally turn my hand to any subject within Nursing having worked as a Programme Lead.
