I am quite unusual as I am a qualified lawyer (I am a Director of a law firm) and also a qualified teacher. I am very proud of my two qualifications and my two graduation photos taken 15 years apart. I wanted to prove to my children that the world is your oyster and to always push yourself. When I am not working I am known as the dog whisperer among my friends as I love to teach my dogs tricks. Having qualified twice myself I have the understanding and empathy for all learners and understand the journey ahead. I am very level headed and calm.
I am a subject specialist being a qualified lawyer with over 20 years experience in civil litigation. I am an experienced tutor/lecturer/assessor in the following areas: wills and probate, inheritance and tax, contract law, law of tort, law of nuisance, forensic law, general defences, criminology, policing law, criminal law, judicial system, human rights, law and morality, equality law, land law, employment law, family law, sources of law as well as all areas on CILEx levels 2, 3 and 6. I give learners appropriate support to enable them to achieve their academic and vocational targets. I have 6 years experience in teaching learners who are either progressing on to higher education at University, trainee lawyers studying via the CILEx route or already studying a law degree at university. I am able to provide 1-1 online sessions in a virtual classroom or alternatively I am happy to prepare a plan for you to answer set work providing you with key information as well as reviewing and appraising any work due for submission. I am also able to set a revision plan and prepare a visual aid for your revision strategy. Being an online tutor is excellent for both of us as we can be in the comfort of our own homes at a mutually convenient time.
Christine - CILEx level 6 learner says... As a mature student returning to my legal studies after a few years, I was looking for a tutor who understood the challenges that I would face in studying while also working full time. I am so happy to have found Sarah, she is an excellent tutor and I always enjoy our lessons. Sarah is always highly prepared for our lessons with excellent slides and she ensures that our lessons meet the Learning Outcomes from my course syllabus. She explains the topic in a way that is accessible, thorough and engaging, so that I gain a genuine understanding of the subject. She also provides me with excellent support in developing my study skills, writing essays, answering exam questions and practically focused on how I would tackle Employment Tribunal Forms. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Sarah on my next modules, and would highly recommend her as a tutor for anyone looking for support with their legal studies.

Philippa - CILEx learner says... I asked for Sarah’s help after trying to tackle Cilex Level 3 on my own and not succeeding. Myself and Sarah have been working together now for over a year and I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made! Sarah is an excellent tutor :) she is very patient and understanding and explains things very thoroughly and answers any questions I have. Sarah was excellent on picking up my weaknesses and helping me work through them. I feel ten times more confident now having her in my corner and wish I had hired her from the start. I look forward to working with her in the future.
Revision class on L6 Civil Litigation - damages. Very easy to follow and easy to stay engaged. I always feel comfortable asking questions along the way and Sarah is more than happy to explain further to make sure you understand what is being taught.
I really enjoyed my lessons today! Sarah is brilliant and given me my confidence within Introduction to law and practice (which is actually near to impossible to understand without her) and family law - which Sarah is making fun for me breaking it down and visual in brilliant presentations and break downs - this is super helpful for me since I am a very visual learner and interactive. Without Sarah I would probably left my course she has totally built my confidence up and majorly helped my exam style answers and understanding of what I call 'Lawyers Jargon'. God knows where I would be without her!!! Really lovely, family lady too!! xx
