About Me

I love nothing more than helping students with complex ideas and triggering that 'lightbulb' moment when they finally grasp a difficult topic. Students describe me as easy-going and relatable. Outside the world of learning, I enjoy running, hiking, meditation and music festivals.

Tutor Experience

I am a Lecturer in Politics and International Studies at Loughborough University. I first studied a BA in History at Cambridge University (First) and then completed an MA (Distinction) and PhD in political theory at University College London.

I have over ten years experience as an academic teaching politics, international studies and philosophy at elite UK universities, such as King's College, London and UCL. This gives me a great 'insider' view of what university assessors and admissions teams are looking for from students.

Alongside my full-time academic role, I have offered online private tuition since 2019 to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students seeking to improve their grades.

I have helped students successfully prepare applications to top universities, such as Oxford and Cambridge.

Testimonial: “You have done an amazing job in clarifying the hard philosophical concepts. I can see that in the way you attempted to explain abstract ideas in simple terms by employing different real-life examples in a patient manner. Moreover, I started to like this subject because of the way you taught me how to develop an argument followed by the premises, soon, I realise that besides critical thinking skill, persuasion is also an important transferable skill that I need to develop for my further studies and career. Even though this is a foundation module of philosophy, I have gained interesting knowledge about the thought experiments you introduced that allow me to reflect and understand the way things are. I really enjoy that aspect of philosophy and received good grades when I talk about them in my essay. So, thank you very much for your tuition!”"

Topic Expertise

I specialise in political theory and philosophy, but can cover most topics in domestic and international politics at undergraduate and masters level. I also instruct in academic writing and admissions to competitive university programmes.
