About Me
I am a university lecturer and researcher in the field of engineering. My research field is robotics, in particular, the use of robotics in renewable power plants. I supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. Here are some of the topics that my students are working on:
- Develop a quadcopter that can fly in the air and swim underwater.
- Design and build a kit that can electrify any skateboard. The kit should be affordable and easy to install, with a 5 km range.
- Develop a robotic arm that will be part of a beach-cleaning robot. The robot will use computer vision to identify pieces of trash on the beach.
- Build a multicopter drone that can stay airborne for at least an hour. The drone uses an internal combustion engine to provide lift, and brushless DC motors provide stability. The drone will use the Pixhawk flight controller.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities and playing board games.
Tutor Experience
I work as a lecturer and researcher at a Department of Mechanical Engineering. I teach various subjects such as mathematics, applied mathematics, programming languages (C, C++, Python, Matlab, Simulink), technical drawing, control systems and robotics. I also assist students in writing reports and theses.
I have been a part of several initiatives at the university to introduce new technologies in online learning. The most recent project involves a computer algebraic system in applied mathematics. The system presents problems to students and offers immediate feedback on their answers. It also provides hints to help them solve the problem.
In addition to this, I have mentored technicians in the industry and continue to tutor my children and their friends on a daily basis.
