I am currently studying my MA in World Literature and will be beginning my PhD in Literature in September. I have a wealth of experience teaching and tutoring English literature, language and English as a foreign language in the UK and elsewhere. I have lived and worked in Ghana, Tanzania and Italy, where I have taught English in a whole range of different settings.
Outside of my studies, I love to dance (mainly ballet) and volunteer for a range of charities focusing on education.
English is all about individual passion and development, and this is something that I aim to nurture through my classes; I am not here to tell you what to do, but rather to nurture your own ideas and talent!
I have over 5 years tutoring experience and have worked as a teacher and tutor in a variety of settings. Most recently, I worked as a volunteer teacher for the Warwick Transformations programme, delivering online lessons in creative writing to classes of students aged 13-15, based in the Coventry area.
Alongside this, I have worked as a self-employed tutor since September 2016. This has involved working with students from across the world, both in person and online (across tutoring platforms with whiteboards, and using Skype and Zoom), in one-to-one and small group settings. With these students, I have worked on early years literacy, KS2 and KS3 English, GCSE and IGCSE English language and literature, A-level English literature and English as a foreign language.
Previously, I have taught in Ghana, Tanzania and Italy. I volunteered in Ghana and Tanzania, delivering English lessons to classes of up to 50 students. Whilst living in Italy, I delivered lessons in both English and Italian to students aged 12-16.
Through my MA and doctoral studies, I am specialising in contemporary world literatures, from the 1980s-present. I work specifically on novels with some comparison to poetry. However, I have experience teaching across the spectrum, especially with GCSE AQA and OCR English language and literature, and A Level OCR English literature.
