About Me
I am a 29-year-old researcher and tutor with a love for English. Following my PhD in English Literature (University of Reading) I have worked across a number of education-based positions, and have recently finished writing my first book.
I love tutoring and helping students build their confidence and achieve the best grade possible. In my spare time I enjoy reading (of course!), going on long walks, playing music and film.
Tutor Experience
I have 6 years of tutoring experience across a number of platforms and settings. With all of my clients I aim to be patient, personable and open to the unique requirements of each individual.
During my time as a doctoral researcher at the University of Reading, I served as a Sessional Lecturer in English Literature, leading seminars of 15+ students. As a result, I have experience condensing often complicated subject-material into accessible lesson plans that will inspire interest and confidence in the study of English.
As a private tutor, I have delivered lessons face to face and through online classrooms. I specialise in GCSE and A Level tuition, although I have experience with younger years (particularly 11+).
My knowledge of the national curriculum is strong, and I have provided effective tuition across key units and texts for KS4 and KS5, helping students with revision for exams, coursework, and developing their confidence as readers.
