A dedicated and engaging tutor living in Scotland. I have a passion for learning which I hope to share with my students.
Outside of tutoring, I am passionate about literature and spend much of my free time reading, writing and attending poetry readings now that the lockdown is over. I am also a keen hiker and try to get out of the city as often as I can. Living so close to the Highlands means that it is only a short trip to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world so I like to make the most of it while I have the chance.
I have delivered around 2,500 hours of tuition, having tutored part-time since 2014 and full time since 2019. I have taught Politics, Philosophy, English and Creative Writing from primary school level through to postgraduate.
Every lesson is tailored to the students individual needs ensuring that each lesson is both challenging and fun. I have experience with students of all abilities, including those with learning difficulties and I aim to help students become confident and independent learners.
I am based in Scotland and as such I am well acquainted with the SQA exam board for National 5, Higher, and Advanced higher. I have also taught GSCSE and A-Level to students based in England and have experience with AQA, Edexcel, and WJEC. I also have experience teaching up to Masters level in English and philosophy. My main subjects are philosophy, English, history, creative writing and politics.
Very helpful feedback for my essay
Harley covered all of the major issues i had wanted to review in the class, and gave good insight into a few key areas. I am looking forward to the next class
