I hold a PhD in International Relations from University College London (2016) where I also worked as a Teaching Assistant for four years receiving excellent feedback. During that time I also received my Postgraduate Teaching Certificate from the Institute of Education of the University of London. Besides my teaching experience I have published a series of academic peer reviewed articles and have contributed to edited volumes. Also, at the moment I am in the process of publishing my doctoral thesis as a monograph at Routledge. This demonstrates that besides an in depth understanding of courses on Government and Politics I also pay attention in my work to academic writing. Last but not least, I have worked in different capacities in the policy sector (i.e. Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Greece, International Centre for Black Sea Studies, etc.) and since 2015 I have been working as a Senior Analyst for an investment firm analysing geopolitical trends and development in the world that might affect the financial markets. This has improved my teaching skills as I often refer to contemporary developments, themes and patterns in the world to show how they related to theoretical concepts
During my PhD studies I taught a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses pertaining to the broad fields of Government and Politics, including among others, International Relations, Foreign Policy, Politics, Politics and Society in Central and Eastern Europe, Institutions and Policies of the European Union, Emerging Market Economies, European Security, Sociology, and Qualitative Methods. Based on the excellent feedback I have received from students, both inside and outside the university, and their request to help them with other modules I have also taught courses on History (e.g. History of the Soviet Union, Cold War, etc.) and Culture (e.g. Russian Cinema, European Literature, etc.) thus broadening my teaching area expertise.
