About Me

My job as a tutor is to ensure that my students are understanding and engaging with material, and enjoying their learning! So often, schools are unable to provide an individualised approach to learning, as they are required to follow a strict curriculum to prepare for exams. I think that it’s really important that we work together to ensure that sessions are productive, and that there is no such thing as a silly question. I am always available to answer questions, even outside of scheduled sessions. I have a lot of experience with different exam boards, and I can use this knowledge to ensure that the whole syllabus is covered in detail. Tuition is about building confidence, both in terms of specialist knowledge and also exam technique. Sometimes, a student just needs help making a colour coded revision schedule, and as a private tutor, that’s part of my job too. I can even provide glittery pens!

Tutor Experience

I have worked as a professional tutor for the past 5 years, including full time in a tuition centre, small group tuition and individual lessons on the 11+, 13+, GCSE and A Level exams, as well as general tuition for KS1-3. Students have successfully gained entrance to numerous top schools, and improved and acheived top grades in their exams. I build strong relationships with my students, and have helped many of them throughout their time at school, through GCSE and A Level exams. I have worked with students looking to gain admission to top universities and colleges on standardised exams and personal statements.

Topic Expertise

I have a BSc in Natural Sciences, in which I studied a broad range of scientific modules, as well as having studied all sciences at A Level, obtaining A*AAA (a) in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I was previously an exams officer for Edexcel and have written 11+ and GCSE preparation courses for a private tuition centre, so I have a good knowledge of the requirements of a variety of specifications.
