I've been a psychology educater at UK universities for the last 12 years, and I take great pride in helping my students to excel. My teaching experience is primarily in psychological research methods, cognitive psychology, biological psychology, mental health, and the psychology of sleep and dreaming - but I have taught all subjects and can help you master any psychology subject, whether it's understanding the material, writing your essay, designing research, conducting data analysis, understanding SPSS output, or writing a lab report - or whatever you need. I also love providing support for students undertaking their final research projects; I've supervised innumerable undergraduate and masters research projects and love helping my students create a project they are genuinely excited about, and then supporting them to succeed at every stage of the journey to completing it. Having come to psychology from a humanities background, I also understand the uphill struggle some students face, especially when it comes to statistics, and I can offer you my expertise on how to get to grips with this subject. Research-wise, have 12 years' academic research experience in the psychology of sleep, dreaming, emotion-processing, memory consolidation, and mental health, with 20+ peer reviewed articles and a book published.
I've taught BSc and MSc Psychology at various UK universities, which has included personal tutoring, leading seminars, providing support for skills-based learning (e.g. learning to navigate SPSS or NVivo), delivering lectures online and on campus, and exam and assessment support. I'm currently a Teaching Fellow at KCL.
I've mostly taught research methods, SPSS, cognitive psychology, biological psychology, mental health, and I ran a specialist module on the psychology of sleep and dreaming.
I have also supervised many BSc and MSc students in their final year projects, including research design, data collection, data analysis, and writing up the report to an academic standard.
Many of my psychology students have been learners who have English as a second language, so rest assured I can support you if English is not your first language.
As a Lecturer in Psychology I typically received 100% satisfaction for modules I ran and I was nominated for multiple teaching awards, including the University of East London School Excellence Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, the UEL Student Union “Personal Maestro” Award for Most Valuable Supervision, and the UEL Student Union “Guiding Star” award for Most Effective Feedback - so rest assured I can offer you exemplary teaching, supervision, and feedback.
