About Me
My philosophy is that all students are unique and that their potential is limitless when cultivated in an inspiring environment. My role is to create conditions for students to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially in order to reach their potential, both on a personal and collective level.
The issue of teaching and learning is one that I am passionate about and I am a strong believer that academic results are a product of a student - centered, innovative pedagogical approach within a constructivist model. My job, as I see it, is to provide a pathway to success and lead a community of learners through the promotion of excellent practice for all, acting with responsibility and integrity.
The outdoors and adventure provide me with the physical and emotional balance to life I need. I cycle to competition standard, and am passionate about Kun Khmer martial arts, trail running, squash, tennis and football - and new discoveries with the people I meet along the way. I have a deep appreciation and love for life which I live to share with others.
Tutor Experience
I started my career in the UK at Newbury Hall International School, and the Oxford Intensive School of English. A move to Berlin followed, before being scouted to coordinate the English department at a French-run school in Phnom Penh. This led to a move to Northbridge International School Cambodia as CAS/ SA Coordinator, English B teacher, MYP English Lang and Lit, and I&S Teacher. I then started at Shen Wai International School in Shenzhen as CAS/ SA Coordinator, English A teacher, MYP English Lang and Lit, and I&S Teacher. I have extensive experience in supervising personal projects, EEs, as well as IELTS and language examination preparation.
Topic Expertise
I have extensive experience teaching the IB, specifically English A, English B, MYP Language Acquisition, Language and Literature, and I&S. I have also been CAS/ SA Coordinator and supervised multiple EEs and Personal Projects. I have also led multiple students to the IELTS scores they required to obtain entry into their university of choice.
