About Me

I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2017 with a First in English and began tutoring shortly after,. I was excited by the possibilities online tutoring opens up, working with people all over the world and from all walks of life, and I enjoy adapting my tutoring style to suit each individual's needs.
Since Spring 2019 I have also been running weekly creative writing workshops at a local arts centre for young people aged 11-18, covering all forms of writing, from poems to script-writing to short stories. I plan and deliver all sessions, to groups of 20 students.
My passion is creative writing - I write plays, poems and short stories, and have been published in various magazines and shortlisted for competitions. I have recently completed the Royal Court's Introduction to Playwriting Course in London. I also work as a script-reader and Literary Assistant for the Finborough Theatre, an off-west end, new-writing theatre in London, and my main interests are arts related - theatre, film, and books. While at university, I wrote and directed my own adaptation of Tennyson's 'Maud' for the stage, as well as taking part in other student plays in various capacities, was editor of my college's creative writing/art anthology, and ran weekly creative writing workshops for my peers.
I always aim to bring the creativity and excitement I feel about English literature and the possibilities of the English language to my online lessons, alongside the tools a student needs to succeed in the exams.

Tutor Experience

I have experience working with students of a wide range of ages and abilities, helping them to prepare for GCSE and A Level in English Language and Literature. I have previous experience teaching the syllabuses for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas, covering a range of the set-texts for Literature. I also have experience tutoring for Oxbridge admissions for English, including assisting with personal statements, ELAT and interview practice. I am flexible with my time, hard-working, used to balancing a range of work-loads, and committed to delivering a high quality tutoring service to all students, adapting to suit each individual's needs.
