Georgie has been tutoring for the past 4 years, across a range of humanities subjects from primary level through to A Level. She aims to widen and develop her students’ knowledge of their subject, before going on to build up confidence and exam technique. Whatever stage they are at, Georgie will guide students through their syllabus, developing the strengths needed to help them achieve the grades they desire. To do this she works closely with each student to develop study plans focused specifically on individual needs.
Georgie has a BA in History from the University of Oxford, and achieved an MA with Distinction in International Relations from King’s College London. She achieved 2 A*s and 2 A’s at A-Level. She is passionate about art and film.
She finds that academic success is best achieved when students are really engaged with their subject. Georgie enables her tutees to get the grades they want but also teaches students to read deeply; skills which will benefit them throughout their education and later life. She finds that such a focus also helps students develop lateral thinking methods, important for Oxbridge interview.
She has wide experience teaching a range of subjects and syllabuses - from Primary to Undergraduate. She is experienced with a range of exam boards including Edexcel, AQA, Pre-U, OCR and WJEC.
Very prompt and great work
Georgie is very prompt, thorough, knowledgeable. She was given short notice, yet she delivers! Can't thank her enough!
For sure, dedicated and available. It has been enjoyable and useful to review my work with you. Thank you.
Very helpful, with good analysis and advice for my text.
Very Good
"Georgie tutored my 15-year-old daughter for her English GCSE last year. She had always struggled with English and had very low self-confidence with it. After a few lessons with Georgie, English became my daughter's favourite subject, and having always got Bs and Cs in mocks ad for coursework, thanks to Georgie's support, direction and encouragement she achieved an A* at the end of the year. Georgie is a gentle, funny and dedicated tutor who I couldn't recommend more highly. "
