When I am not tutoring I work as a writer and theatre maker. I also work to deliver drama workshops in schools. I am involved in various improvised and scripted drama groups and will be going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer with our work. I am a big theatre fan and have been lucky enough to do some training with Complicite Theatre Company and complete The Royal Court Young Writer's Programme. I have won awards with my playwriting at University and directed the Oxford Revue. I now continue to engage in theatre work in addition to my role as an educator.
"Got an offer this morning for History and English at St Hugh's. Thanks so much for all of your help with my application, genuinely had no chance without you" Oliver, applicant for History and English at Oxford University.
'Ella's enthusiastic approach to teaching Shakespeare definitely brought his writing to life for me. Ella helped me to uncover many hidden meanings in Macbeth that hadn't been covered in class. Moreover, I struggled with how to plan my essays for GCSE English Literature, yet Ella taught me a clear game plan that enabled me to write confidently under time pressure. Ella helped me to achieve a level 9 in GCSE English Literature and with her action plan, I managed to obtain almost full marks in all of my essays! Thank you Ella!' Simon, GCSE student
No matter how long or short the lesson is Ella always gives the best lessons. 👍👍

I graduated from Oxford University studying English Literature at Wadham College ( 2013).
During my University studies I worked as a private tutor teaching English G.C.S.E to students based in the U.K.
I was also a member of the access scheme, to encourage students to enter into the Oxford system from a range of backgrounds.
To date, I have run workshops in comprehensive schools throughout the U.K, focusing on English and critical discourses ( references available on request).
I have taught English as a foreign language in India and Paris and worked for the Isis Language School, based in Oxford.
On graduation, I was employed by Eton X to develop an educational programme. In this position I was head tutor and both trained and selected new tutors for the programme, a digital education merger available internationally. This work included a mentorship position with the young people I worked with.
Since leaving Eton X I have worked as a private tutor teaching GCSE and A-Level syllabus, creative writing and arts related disciplines.
I am a graduate of The Ecole Philippe Gaulier Theatre School, in Paris ( 2014-2016) and have collaborated with professional theatre companies on understanding Shakespeare. The theatre related skills I have gathered inform the work that I do with Shakespeare modules.
I have successfully guided countless students through the Oxford and Cambridge application process.
I edit dissertations, creative writing projects and scripts. I am a graduate of The Royal Court Writer's Programme.
