About Me
I am a second year PhD student at Merton College, Oxford, studying Interdisciplinary Bioscience, with a specialism in animal behaviour. I graduated with a First Class degree in Biological Sciences from Merton College, Oxford (2018). I am a personable and enthusiastic tutor with a genuine passion for science and teaching.
I'm particularly excited to share my fascination of the natural world with students while preparing them for exams so that they can realise their potential and goal of studying at a top university.
While at University I’ve given a talk at Inscite; the annual undergraduate interdisciplinary science conference at Oxford, taught at SPALSH; a day-long programme that invites secondary school students to the University to take courses taught by undergraduates on a wide variety of topics, launched an online book review: The Oxford Book Club and written articles in various student publications.
Tutor Experience
With over 60 hours tutoring experience across a number of top quality online platforms, and over 25 hours one-to-one mentoring for a highly acclaimed Oxbridge consultancy, I’m equipped with the knowledge and experience to help students get into the top universities and to achieve the best grades possible. As a Mentor, I’ve given application advice on two summer school programs in Oxford over the past two years and have also been a student ambassador at the University since my first year.
My lessons will focus on areas where students have a weak understanding and where there are gaps in their knowledge. This means that you get what you want most out of sessions.
I have always learnt best where a teacher is receptive, patient and understanding. I always strive to ensure that a student feels like they can ask any question they want and that it's okay to make mistakes. This way students can learn to have confidence in their answers and areas for improvement can be quickly identified.
