About Me

I grew up in London where I attended City of London Girls School and Westminster School, completed Pre-U's in Art History (A*), English Literature (A) and Fine Art (A*), as well as an A-Level in History (A). For my undergraduate degree, I was lucky to attend two very different institutions: I spent two years at the University of Chicago as an intended Art History major, and then transferred the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to complete a BFA in Studio.

My tutoring style balances a thorough knowledge of results-driven exam techniques and an intellectual curiosity which flows beyond the immediate perimeter of the syllabus. I create targeted lesson plans for the areas of difficulty while consistently engaging a student’s existing passions as the primary starting point for learning and improvement. Patience, openness and communication are key to my approach; I aim to strengthen the learning strategies that a student has already cultivated and to be creative in my development of new approaches.

Tutor Experience

I have been working as a tutor for 8 years, helping students of a wide range of ages and abilities. This has included successfully preparing students for 11+ and 13 + Exams in Maths, English, VR and NVR for top UK day schools. I have helped older students at GCSE and IGCSE–level in English, German, History, and Design and Technology, Film Studies, Media Studies and Art, and worked with A-Level students of Art and Art History. I have reviewed personal statements, portfolios and applications for top US Universities, and provided essay writing assistance to first-year university students in Art History and Cinema and Media Studies.

My experience working with younger children includes volunteer work for the Homework Club at the Rugby Portobello Trust, an afterschool club for primary school children, and as a live-in au-pair and English tutor for a five and seven-year-old during my gap year.

Topic Expertise

My expertise lies in preparation for 11+ and 13+ examinations, and in History of Art, Art, Design and Technology and Film Studies.
