Madeline Claire

2:1 Music

I am a professional tutor with years of experience, specialising in Geography tuition. As a student myself I achieved the highest mark in the country for Geography GCSE (AQA) and was awarded a gold medal by AQA, in addition to being made an honorary member of the National Geographic Society in recognition of the achievement. I went on to achieve extremely high UMS marks in A level Geography also, and went on to study at the University of Cambridge, where I chose to study Musicology and graduated with a 2:1.

Since graduating I have been working as an academic tutor for various high level tutoring agencies and have experience preparing students for both AQA and OCR specifications in Geography. I also tutor English and am able to help students with how to structure answers well.

Testimonials

Madeline is currently helping my son prepare for his geography A’level. Madeline’s support has been tremendous both in terms of helping my son to plan and organise his notes right through to working on his exam technique. She is excellent at evaluating a pupil’s knowledge (and identifying any gaps), assessing their strengths and weaknesses and working out the most effective way forward. Madeline is always fully prepared for sessions and is very happy to mark work at home. She is really committed to ensuring that my son achieves as high a mark as possible. She is also a great strategic thinker and is very good at knowing the best way to approach the exam questions to ensure maximum marks are gained. Madeline is always calm, orderly and very positive even when faced with a student who needs quite a lot of sorting out! I have real pleasure in recommending Madeline for any future tutoring/teaching positions. (Parent of a current Geography A level pupil)

Over the past few months I have been working with Madeline on my geography a level and she has both helped me to prepare for exams with revisions session as well as aiding my on the write up of my NEA. She has been incredibly helpful in both helping me to understand the curriculum as well as teaching me new methods of writing notes and laying out my work. I have found that since working with Madeline the layout of my work both In geography and other subjects as improved massively and it is all thanks to her. I am incredibly pleased with the progress I have made and I will continue to work with her until my A level exam later on this year. (Faith, current A level Geography pupil)
