About Me
I have a PhD in medieval history and a degree in English literature. I have a passion for all things medieval and I also love teaching and sharing my knowledge. I did my undergraduate degree at Trinity College Dublin, and my MA and PhD at Durham University.
Tutor Experience
I’ve lectured in History and Old Norse Language and Literature at universities including University College London. I have also tutored GCSE and A Level students extensively, including for the Access Project, which gives promising students the boost they need to get into the best universities. I believe I’m establishing a firm grounding in academic skills such as essay writing, and have received feedback from my students that these are some of the most valuable skills they learn from me. I also believe that literature and history are interesting, and that teaching shouldn’t drain the joy from them. I therefore teach in an engaging and relaxed manner that not only encourages students to learn but also enjoy what they are learning.
