I am a young, passionate and enthusiastic tutor with knowledge of the core subjects such as Maths, English and especially Science. I am now currently in my final year of my Immunology PhD at UCL, whilst also working part-time as a science mentor/supervisor with a specialist company that holds enrichment classes for young children. I therefore value the importance of education and have full confidence in my ability to prepare students with the knowledge needed in their studies.
Having completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science (BSc) at Imperial College London, I decided to to specialise in an area I was really passionate in - our body's immune system. I therefore undertook an MSc at UCL in Infection & Immunity. I truly find the battle between infectious agents and our immune system to be a fascinating and ever-changing arms race and am thus have focussed my PhD on a unique subset of immune cells and enhancing their potency against bacteria.
Throughout the years I have developed various methods and techniques to study and I am fully aware that different techniques work well on different people and am therefore patient and willing to help students learn in a way that is best suited to them. I believe studying can be very rewarding, not just in terms of the outcome of grades, but also in enriching and deepening an individual’s ability to understand and I would therefore love to help make it an enjoyable experience for students.
I have been a part-time tutor between 2014-2020 and estimate I have delivered around 70 hours of 1:1 tutorials to students since 2014. I have taught English and Mathematics ranging from KS3 to GCSE level and have also taught Biology extensively – from KS3 to GCSE, A-level and University-level. During my time as a tutor, I have covered many of the major exam boards including AQA, OCR and Edexcel.
I have a lot of experience helping university and A-level students with coursework and essays and have helped many students with their proof-reading EPQs, University-level coursework (Biology reports) and essays as well as MPhil-to-PhD thesis reports.
In addition to this I work for a learning enrichment company where I served as a science mentor for 3 years before moving onto a supervisory role. Here I was responsible for the delivery of science education to children with a range of ages, behavioural difficulties and learning capabilities. I was also responsible for maintaining classroom behaviour and quality teaching
I am experienced and well-trained in tutoring KS3 and GCSE students in Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry.
My speciality lies within biology and here I am able to tutor to A-Level and University Level. I specialise in human immunology and laboratory reports, techniques and papers used within this field.
