I am a highly experienced Chemistry teacher with over a decade of teaching experience. As a recent Head of Chemistry, you can be confident that I understand the rigours of the subject and have a wealth of resources to share with you. I am an expert teacher with a PGCE and a Masters in Science Education from the University of Cambridge. I also have a PhD and MSci in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge. I taught for six years at one of the top independent schools in the country.

I pride myself on drawing the best out of my students. My years of teaching expertise mean that I can quickly ascertain what it is students do not understand and tailor my teaching methods to support their individual needs and learning style. I have an in-depth understanding of the specifications and exam papers, coupled with teaching methods that improve attainment. I am also an Expert Examiner for two of the major exam boards. I provide bespoke consolidation work to accompany each tuition, which means the benefits of my teaching reach beyond the tuition itself.

All but one of my A Level students achieved a grade A in Summer 2020. Two students improved from a grade E in their end of Y12 exams to a grade A. This year I have had three students accepted for Medicine, two for Vet Medicine and one for Chemical Engineering at Cambridge.

As a professional tutor, helping my students to achieve the best possible results, using my considerable educational expertise, is my number one priority.

With a high level of mathematical expertise I am adept at teaching the elements of Physical Chemistry that are often more challenging to both teach and learn. I carefully deconstruct challenging concepts and calculations building up understanding in a stepwise manner until you are ready to tackle the most challenging problems. My knowledge goes beyond that of the A Level and IB specifications, ensuring that I can give comprehensive answers to questions that arise, and extend you, should this be appropriate for your needs. I am also an expert in the practical side of Chemistry and have developed a range of resources to help develop the in-depth understanding that is required for the required practicals for GCSE and A Level.
