About Me
I am a 51 year old qualified and experienced teacher living in the South Lakes with my two children. I enjoy sports in particular triathlons and rock climbing. It has been a joy and continues to be a joy bringing up my two children.
I have been teaching since 1991. My first mathematics teaching post was in Zimbabwe in a small village school called Chakohwa Secondary School with Voluntary Services Overseas. This taught me how to teach with action and little English as their mother tongue was Shona.
Before tutoring I was teaching maths in a secondary school whilst being a governor and a trustee for a local primary school.
Tutor Experience
I have been tutoring for five years now. Initially I started up teaching in secondary schools and then I naturally migrated my attention to individual tutoring. My clients have mostly found me through local recommendations.
Every one of them has improved and this improvement has been noticed by their school teachers. But most importantly and longer lasting than this is they have all enjoyed their mathematics sessions with me in such a way that their increased confidence now enables them to tackle everyday problems effectively.
