About Me

I have been a Psychology teacher for 7 years and Head of Department for 6 years. I am passionate about the social sciences and helping students become enthusiastic in questioning human behavior with a critical mindset. My undergraduate degree is in Political Science and Sociology and I taught the latter for 2 years at A-Level. I am a big believer in teaching students what it means to be an effective learner, a skill they need to succeed in life beyond school.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I lived in Canada in order to spend time exploring the mountains north of Vancouver on skis and worked for Save the Children in their London head office. As someone passionate about the outdoors and adventure, I love being able to share this enthusiasm with students and have recently become interested in some new outdoor activities such as caving and surfing.

I have spent the majority of my life living and working in the UK but for the last 5 years have called Vietnam my home. During my time there I enjoyed extensively traveling throughout South East Asia . I now live in Lisbon, Portugal as of 2021.

Tutor Experience

I have 5 years experience as Head of Psychology at a high achieving International School (3 year average score 37.5) where 84% of the last Psychology cohort received Grade 6/7.

My commitment to teaching Psychology stems from a desire to engage and inspire students in a subject that encourages them to critically analyse human behaviour and the social world around them, enabling them to be adaptable, responsible and accomplished individuals. Nothing gives me more satisfaction that opening a student up to the world of Psychology.
