Online Chemistry Tutor Shalini

I have approximately 25 years of teaching Chemistry at the senior secondary level (16-19 years). I specialize in teaching IBDP Chemistry with 18 years experience . A result oriented person, I take pride in sharing that most of my students get 7s or 6s with many achieving As/Bs in EEs and 20 plus scores in IAs. In May 2021 examination, 5 students got a 7 with each scoring 90% and above. Two students wrote the EE under my supervision and one achieved an A and the other B. The results are consistently good, both at the Higher and the Standard Level.

I have been updating my approach and pedagogy on a regular basis. I believe that more the students take the ownership of their work, deeper is their learning. Besides Science is all about experiential learning. Simulations, virtual labs, databases etc. are some of the effective techniques, I have been using to encourage more student involvement. Online quizzes, educational videos etc. add value to their learning.

Some of the assignments I have successfully used to bring out the best in my students are exit cards, creating their own mind maps /podcasts/ crosswords/ glossaries, google forms, kitchen chemistry labs and their analysis etc. These are over and above the standard practice of past papers. Regular short tests keep the students on toes.

Being an IA and P3 IBDP examiner , I am familiar with the standard and quality of the questions, which makes it easy to guide students much better.

I am confident in using online whiteboards and other online medium for teaching purposes.

I am more than confident in getting across effectively in all the regular topics in IBDP Chemistry and Option A. Guiding students to write good quality IA/ EE is what I specialize in besides giving a conceptual understanding to master writing quality answers in P2 and P3 and attempting P1 employing good time management and HOT skills.
