About Me
Hello! If Athanasios is too long and cumbersome, please call me Thanos :)
I am 31 years old and have a strong background in statistics and applied empirical research. I graduated with two MSc. degrees in Behavioural and Policy Economics from Erasmus School of Economics and a micromasters certificate in Statistics and Data Science from MIT. I am currently working as a data science consultant in Amsterdam, helping business units implement data science solutions.
I am passionate about data modeling and teaching! Through multiple academic courses and industry work, I have studied and implemented a wide range of methods and techniques, from descriptive analysis and data visualization to econometric and machine learning models. But, what I love the most is helping people appreciate the art of statistics, using simple explanations and appealing to their intuition.
I have received more than a thousand student evaluations over the years, which have helped me recognize my strengths as a tutor. According to my students, I am very patient, can provide intuitive and clear explanations of technical concepts, as well as create a safe environment where they can ask all their questions. In my classes, students are placed in the driver's seat and learn at a pace that is optimal for them and their needs.
