I have over 6 years of experience in teaching Maths. I have tutored over 80 students and taught 4000+ hours of online lessons with various tuition agencies. Most of the students I have taught have been year 7 - 9, GCSE, A level and Further Maths A level students. I am familiar with the GCSE and A level syllabus for the following exam boards: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, OCR MEI and CIE. I have worked with students who are dyslexic or struggling with Maths and also high-achieving students.
Romin's last completed IB Mathematics job with Maya: Intensive - Maya is IB Standard Level, Applications and Approaches Math. We are looking for ongoing tutor for the balance of the two year program. However, we have a near term need for support with Trig (Radian Measure, Trigometric ratios and the Unit Circle as well as Trig Identifies and Equasions. She also needs support in Functions, specifically the Transformation of Functions. Finally, Quadratics with focus on graphic quadratic functions and the discriminant. These are the areas she needs to focus on as a priority.
Romin's last review in IB Mathematics from Cristina: I finally understood how to properly solve math problems. I'm really thankful for the kindness.
I have been working as a maths tutor since 2011 and online exclusively since 2015, with over 6000 hours of experience. During this period, I have successfully assisted students studying for their GCSE and IB/A-levels all the way up to university modules and exams. This has taken place both privately and while holding external tutoring roles in various London schools. In the online realm, I have worked with students from all over the world, those studying for UK specifications as well as undergraduates in English speaking universities or wishing to attend UK universities. For instance, I've had students, among others, from Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, China, USA.
Areas usually covered for undergraduates include analysis and calculus, analytic and differential geometry, financial maths, linear algebra, statistics and probability.
Regarding my tutoring method, I strive to create а well balanced relationship with pupils. I set clear targets for my students and expect them to develop throughout our sessions. Additionally, I emphasize оn the suitable аpprоаch fоr eаch individuаl in оrder tо hаve the best results pоssible. I further cоnsider humоur аn essentiаl pаrt оf my sessiоns аs it creаtes а better leаrning envirоnment, eliminates inhibitions, and promotes а more enjoyable session.
Lastly, in my lessons, I put a lot of emphasis on the background knowledge of every topic and method - dry memorising is of no use. This has proved valuable for students in tackling the challenging and 'unseen' questions in the exams. What is more, exams aside, analytic skills accompany students throughout their studies in various areas.
Panagiotis's last completed IB Mathematics job with Hannah: Occasional - I have been working on the Math HL option for Calculus for a week now and the only way we study in class is by going through the textbook ourselves. I have been able to self study all the other topics, but it doesn't seem to work for me with the option.
Panagiotis's last review in IB Mathematics from Kenji: Very easy to understand with a screen-shared digital board.
I have got over 200 hours of tutoring experience, teaching mostly the IB Diploma and MYP Curriculum, also online. I also got experience in preparing students for SATs and University Mathematics Exams. (Maths for Business, Economics and Finance)
I am comfortable with using new technology to facilitate learning. (Graphics Calculators: TI Nspire, TI-84, Autograph, Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Sharepoint, Bitpaper.)
In my most recent job, apart from the scheduled lessons, I have supported my students in one to one support sessions and I am very proud that many of them achieved 6 or 7 in their Mathematics Higher and Standard Level exams and got admitted to prestigious universities. (Oxford, Imperial, Kings College, QMC, LSE)
My many years of teaching experience enables me to assess student knowledge and learning style quickly and address it with appropriate methods.

I am a DP2 student (Japan) struggling with mathematics SL overall, especially with calculus (integration), statistics&probability, and a bit of trigonometry. I have been going to a local cram school for this, but it has so far proved to be not very effective as the school unfortunately had no experience teaching the IB curriculum. My mock exam grades have been particularly bad, just barely making the cut.
My main objective is to get a 5 or at least a higher than minimum grade to make sure that Mathematics does not become the failing subject in exams.
Given the amount of time left until the May exams, I am looking for a tutor who can help me find the key underlying problems I have, fixing those key errors, and giving me work to do for those areas. I recognize the difficulty of what I am requesting and am willing to take on extra work and effort to make it work.

Dora's last review in IB Mathematics from Kenji: Integration by substitution and mixed practice. Ms. Dora went through questions, built on covered sections, and answered any questions I had or was unsure about.
I've tutored students for the past five years, initially only GCSE and Key Stage 3 mathematics but later including A-Level (and IB) maths (and further maths), first year undergraduate maths (except for pure modules e.g group theory, real analysis, number theory), and also all sciences up to GCSE level. I've covered all exam boards extensively and am very familiar with the individual syllabuses. For the past two years, I have offered specialist tuition to those preparing for entrance exams and interviews for the top universities in the UK, and have had very high success rates getting students into the mathematics degrees at Oxford and Cambridge in particular.
I've consistently tutored for around ten hours per week over this period, and thus have amassed thousands of hours of experience. I've been buoyed by the positive feedback I've received from students and parents, and thus am always eager to take on new students - irrespective of ability level or educational goal.

Adam's last completed IB Mathematics job with Tyra-Ashley: Over 2 hrs/week - I am an IB DP Year 2 student, based in Germany, sitting the May 2020 exams. I am a medical applicant with specific IB point requirements and I am looking to improve my forecasted math performance for the exams. I am determined to raise my current performance to a level 7. I would like to review all material for the Standard Level course, with a particular emphasis on the afore mentioned areas of struggle. Additionally, if possible, I would appreciate a possible review of the final draft of my Standard Level Math Internal Assessment.
I have a lot of patience and ensure that the student understands the concept thoroughly before moving further. I follow a Socratic and Engagement method of teaching.

Anirudh's last review in IB Mathematics from Tyra-Ashley: A trial class to get acquainted Mr. Anirudh has a very effective style of teaching. He breaks down concepts which initially appear very difficult to a level that the student can understand very easily. He makes sure to check for comprehension on behalf of the student. The introductory lesson went very well.

Federico's last completed IB Mathematics job with Edouard: Over 2 hrs/week - My daughter Clemence is looking for a maths teacher familiar with the IB course. She needs to review her Grade 11 program in order to improve her predicted grades.
I estimate I have at least 6000 hours of experience, having been a tutor since 2011. I initially started teaching Maths and Physics to Engineering students at University and I gradually expanded into secondary school level tuition. I have worked full time as a tutor since 2012 and during that time I have taught Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering.
I have taught A Levels, IGCSE/GCSE, IB, Pre-U, AP and I have covered nearly every exam board including Edexcel, OCR, AQA, WJEC. All of my students are seeking to get into top Univeristies.
What makes me a good tutor is my ability to break down a subject and cover it in a particular order so that a student who might not have a good understanding can understand how to progress through the topics. It doesn't hurt that I have a sense of humour and make my lessons actually fun and enjoyable.

STAVROS's last completed IB Mathematics job with Maja: Occasional - Hello, I seek help with writing my maths SL internal assessment.
