Having sat the IB, I believe in the power of specialization, reason why I only tutor IB Economics and IB Mathematics and do not cover other exam boards. Indeed, I know the ins and outs of how to outperform in both subjects and therefore focus heavily on exam technique with my students; I add value by pointing out how certain key words in exam questions are indicative of how a question is to be tackled to score top marks.
83% of my IB Economics and IB Mathematics students scored a '7' last year, and all of my Economics Extended Essay students have scored an 'A' in my multi-year tutoring career.
Most importantly, whilst I do cover the whole IB syllabus thoroughly, I do not read out any textbook to my students, as I believe that a successful tutor is one who can simplify complex topics by explaining the underlying concepts in a logical manner, thereby allowing students to jump to intuitive conclusions themselves.
Finally, having successfully written personal statements which won me admission at the University of Warwick and the London School of Economics (LSE), I have helped countless students win places at prestigious universities by supporting them with their UCAS applications and personal statements, along with guiding them through university and degree choices that best match their future career goals.
I have got over 200 hours of tutoring experience, teaching mostly the IB Diploma and MYP Curriculum, also online. I also got experience in preparing students for SATs and University Mathematics Exams. (Maths for Business, Economics and Finance)
I am comfortable with using new technology to facilitate learning. (Graphics Calculators: TI Nspire, TI-84, Autograph, Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Sharepoint, Bitpaper.)
In my most recent job, apart from the scheduled lessons, I have supported my students in one to one support sessions and I am very proud that many of them achieved 6 or 7 in their Mathematics Higher and Standard Level exams and got admitted to prestigious universities. (Oxford, Imperial, Kings College, QMC, LSE)
My many years of teaching experience enables me to assess student knowledge and learning style quickly and address it with appropriate methods.
I have been working as a maths tutor since 2011 and online exclusively since 2015, with over 6000 hours of experience. During this period, I have successfully assisted students studying for their GCSE and IB/A-levels all the way up to university modules and exams. This has taken place both privately and while holding external tutoring roles in various London schools. In the online realm, I have worked with students from all over the world, those studying for UK specifications as well as undergraduates in English speaking universities or wishing to attend UK universities. For instance, I've had students, among others, from Germany, Netherlands, Spain, France, China, USA.
Areas usually covered for undergraduates include analysis and calculus, analytic and differential geometry, financial maths, linear algebra, statistics and probability.
Regarding my tutoring method, I strive to create а well balanced relationship with pupils. I set clear targets for my students and expect them to develop throughout our sessions. Additionally, I emphasize оn the suitable аpprоаch fоr eаch individuаl in оrder tо hаve the best results pоssible. I further cоnsider humоur аn essentiаl pаrt оf my sessiоns аs it creаtes а better leаrning envirоnment, eliminates inhibitions, and promotes а more enjoyable session.
Lastly, in my lessons, I put a lot of emphasis on the background knowledge of every topic and method - dry memorising is of no use. This has proved valuable for students in tackling the challenging and 'unseen' questions in the exams. What is more, exams aside, analytic skills accompany students throughout their studies in various areas.
Having graduated from the University of Oxford with a distinction in mathematical and theoretical physics, I am now a mathematical physicist by trade with multiple publications in leading journals and a proven track record of success as both a researcher and as a tutor.
Teaching is my passion and I have been tutoring mathematics and physics for over 8 years and have given 1000's of hours of online tuition.
My most recent 2019 success stories include:
1. A tutee going on to study physics at Oxford after achieving a clean sweep of A* grades at A-level.
2. 100% success rate for first choice University admission in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
3. 100% of tutees achieving their target grade or above.
I have tutored all major exam boards and optional modules from KS2 through to undergraduate level.

I am a qualified Mathematics teacher with extensive experience in international schools in various parts of the world, most recently in Milan, Italy. During this time, I have taught IGCSE and the IB Diploma, but am increasingly turning my attention to online tutoring.
For this reason, I have been working to adapt my resources to ensure that my online lessons are as clear and efficient as possible. The material for each course has been carefully prepared, paying particular attention to course specifications and past papers. Regardless of their ability, students can expect engaging and rewarding lessons, carefully customised to suit their way of learning. Whether they wish to explore topics for the first time, or to consolidate what they have learned through revision, I can offer the support and clarity required.
I estimate I have at least 6000 hours of experience, having been a tutor since 2011. I initially started teaching Maths and Physics to Engineering students at University and I gradually expanded into secondary school level tuition. I have worked full time as a tutor since 2012 and during that time I have taught Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering.
I have taught A Levels, IGCSE/GCSE, IB, Pre-U, AP and I have covered nearly every exam board including Edexcel, OCR, AQA, WJEC. All of my students are seeking to get into top Univeristies.
What makes me a good tutor is my ability to break down a subject and cover it in a particular order so that a student who might not have a good understanding can understand how to progress through the topics. It doesn't hurt that I have a sense of humour and make my lessons actually fun and enjoyable.
Private tutoring (2015 - ?)
- I have taught more than 40 students on various levels of Maths from secondary to undergraduate level.
- I have designed tests, mock interviews to help students prepare for standard exams such as A Levels (any exam board), AP, IB (SL, HL), GRE (Quant), SAT, and SSAT.
Teaching assistantship at Imperial College London (2017 - 2019)
- I taught a group of year 1 undergraduates on a weekly basis to help them transition from maths in school to more rigorous maths in university.
- I helped run a summer school aimed at preparing students for MAT and STEP tests (admission tests to Oxbridge and Russel group universities)
Teaching assistantship at Stony Brook University (2019 - ?)
- I am currently teaching or have taught undergraduate courses such as Fourier analysis and differential equations & dynamics
- I help run the Math Learning Centre in which students can drop in anytime to ask tutors any maths questions
- I grade coursework and give review classes for some undergraduate courses
I have been a private tutor since 2015 and have hundreds of hours experience.
I started online tutoring in October 2019.
I'm a maths support advisor as well as an online tutor. In both, my work as an advisor and a tutor, I help students learn maths. I enjoy getting to know individuals' learning styles and levels of maths knowledge, as it allows me to present mathematical knowledge in a way that best suits the student and find ways for the student to progress. I love maths and enjoy encouraging students to discover its beauty and usefulness. I also have extensive experience of supporting students with maths anxiety, and can help addressing it and breaking the maths avoidance cycle.
I have tutored students in maths since I was a high school student myself. When I started my undergraduate degree, I volunteered as a mentor at the local high school, and back in Slovenia at maths summer camps for enthusiastic high school students. When I started my PhD degree, I started tutoring multiple university level courses as a postgraduate teaching assistant, and tutoring A level and IB maths courses online. I have continued tutoring online since.
I have successfully taught all subjects I am offering up to and including A Level. Experienced with AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and Eduqas. As a senior leader I have coached and mentored new and experienced teachers giving me a deep understanding of teaching methodologies. Skilled in differentiating learning, my student-centred approach ensures all students make progress. I am dedicated to developing the passion for lifelong learning in others.
