About Me
I grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and spent 10 years at UBC obtaining 3 degrees. My passions include mountain biking, trials motorcycling, skiing, boating and scuba diving. Unfortunately, an inner ear infection left me with permanent vestibular damage and severe balance impairment. This forced me to retire from dental clinical practice and teaching as well as give up the sports I love. I currently live in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, a world UNESCO heritage city.
Tutor Experience
Teaching assistant for first year biology and 4th year biology of fishes when doing my M.Sc., I organized and ran an accredited dental study club in Vancouver, B.C.. I have sat on the UBC dental admissions committee and dental interview committee. I participated in the UBC dental student mentorship program, mentoring 3rd and 4th year dental students in a private practice setting. I have been a part time and more recently full time clinical instructor/lecturer at the UBC school of dentistry. I have organized and given lectures as a key opinion leader for Planmeca, specifically in the the area of 2D and 3D dental radiology.
