About Me

I am theoretical-computational physicist currently studying for my PhD at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), Liverpool John Moores University. My research interests include aspects of black hole physics and gamma-ray burst afterglows. I also have research experience in energy transport in atomic systems.

I grew up in Spain, and before joining the ARI I obtained my degree in Physics and Master's degree in Astrophysics from University of La Laguna, Tenerife. Apart from working towards my PhD, I am also an undergraduate teaching assistant on the Astrophyics degree offered by LJMU and UoL. In the past I have worked as a python programmer in industry.

Through many years of study and research I have acquired a depth of knowledge in physics and mathematics. I am also well versed in programming (mainly in Python), research skills and formal document writing ( for example lab reports or dissertations). I find happiness in using my experience to help students understand these topics and achieve their goals.

Tutor Experience

I have worked as a PhD tutor for The Brilliant Club, a charity working towards improving university participation among students from underprivileged backgrounds. I taught short courses on mathematics and philosophy. I also designed and delivered a course on black holes and gravity aimed at key stage 4 students.

My experience as a private tutor ranges from secondary school science to second year university mathematics. I have helped students achieve their goals both in Spain and the United Kingdom.

My teaching style involves identifying the key concepts and techniques the pupil must master and making sure this is achieved as efficiently as possible. To do this, I strive to understand the balance between "understanding why" and "knowing how" required by the student.
