I hold a DBS Certificate.

As a tutor I have a good track record of satisfied clients. I tutor students from GCSE Physics and Astronomy up to and including undergraduate level Physics, Astrophysics and Astronomy.

I am a member of the Institute of Physics professional standards panel and the Physics World Advisory Board.

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development through the Institute of Physics.

In my spare time I serve as a STEM Ambassador and volunteer at public engagement events at Winchester Science Centre.

I also enjoy attending public science lectures.

My hobbies are crafts including sketching, machine knitting and sewing and working in the garden. I am married with one son.

Tutor Experience

Ten years professional experience of tutoring., five years on Spires.

Specialist in tutoring GCSE Physics and Astronomy, A Level Physics, and undergraduate Astronomy and Astrophysics students.

100% of my students have gained Grade 7 and above, 45% Grade 8 and above, 15% Grade 9. My A Level students increase their grades by 1-2 letters on average.

Students studying Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics have worked with me at a range of levels and exam boards:

GCSE: OCR, AQA, Edexcel
A-Level: AQA, OCR A, OCR B, Edexcel
International Baccalaureate Higher Level
Oxford Physics Aptitude Test
Undergraduate (Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics): students from University of Southampton and Imperial College

Anishaa: Caroline is an excellent, thoughtful and devoted tutor who has been tutoring me for two years now during my undergraduate Physics degree at Imperial College London. She has assisted me weekly by working through questions I have had difficulty with, in problem sheets and past exam papers. She has helped me develop my understanding of advanced concepts in Physics through her effective and diligent explanations. Caroline always addresses any questions I have extremely thoroughly during the lessons and has also provided me with extra material where necessary to improve my understanding outside of the lessons. She has been tremendously supportive and encouraging when working through questions together during lessons. I would highly recommend Caroline as a tutor and am extremely appreciative of her effort and dedication to helping me improve my knowledge of the subject.

Debbie: Caroline has been an amazing tutor to our son who is studying A level physics. She is patient and calm in her approach and provides clear explanations of any new material that is covered. She encourages him that he is making progress and works through difficult questions in a collaborative fashion. The class recordings, whiteboards and homework are sent through immediately following each lesson. I have no hesitation in recommending Caroline as an excellent tutor.
