I have been teaching children in UK secondary schools, aged 11-18, for 7 years. I have 10 years of teaching experience, including 3 years of tutoring.
I am passionate about making young people see the beauty in Maths, enjoy learning, and build resilience and confidence in the subject. I teach with enthusiasm and energy so that young people come away from lessons feeling motivated and happy about their Mathematical journey
In my current role, I am at middle management level in schools, being Assistant Faculty Leader and Faculty Leader for Maths, most recently. This means I have extensive knowledge about how children learn best, how to make Maths engaging but, most importantly, I know how to make sure young people make accelerated progress in Mathematics. I have engaged with research into effective Mathematical Pedagogy and use this strong knowledge to ensure children are successful in Mathematics.
In my most recent Year 11 class, ALL pupils achieved grades 7-9. These are the top grades you can achieve in the UK at age 16. In my most recent year 13 class, ALL pupils achieved grades A*-B, again the top grades pupils can achieve in the UK at the age of 18.

Tom is an excellent teacher who also happens to be the king of Maths. He explains every concept well and helps with many questions on that concept with clear guidance and perpetual support. He is a very nice teacher and he is eager to help any student become the next king of Maths.
