About Me
I completed my Geography degree and teacher training in the South West of England. I then went on to become a Head of Year and then Head of Department in London. I am currently enjoying teaching Geography A level along the South East coast of England.
I enjoy being outside and travelling with my family. I like to make the most of living by the sea and also enjoy cycling. I like to read around current events in the world and link it back to Geography.
Tutor Experience
My name is Victoria, I have taught Geography for 15 years and have been a Head of Department in a secondary school in the UK. I have taught Key Stage 3 Geography, GCSE, and A level Geography. I help students build up confidence, knowledge, and skills to help students progress and succeed.
I am a positive, personable, and creative person and believe that I bring this to my teaching. I enjoy the links to Geography and current events. I enjoy supporting students through the content and helping students to succeed through fine tuning exam technique. I believe in building positive relationships with students that enables the students to fully engage and reflect. Geography is a dynamic, diverse, and exciting subject and I relish the opportunity to convey this through tutoring and help to excite, interest, and inspire students.
In the last 7 years I have been designing, delivering, teaching, and tutoring the Edexcel Geography A level in a high performing college. I like to keep the course content current to help motivate and engage students. I like to give student clear explanations on new concepts, link this to a place example and test their knowledge recall. Once the student has clearly understood the concept, we can then work at applying it to an exam question.
Throughout my career I have helped students gain confidence and improve their exam technique and skills, which has led to high grades. During my time as Head of Geography in London, there was a 100% pass rate. I attend exam board training and have previously worked as an examiner.
I have experience of helping students with Oxbridge applications and interviews.
