About Me
I am originally from the UK, from a large, warm family, who are all creative in some way. I have always been interested in the Arts and enjoyed acting and signing with my siblings from a young age. These interest have continued, as I am a member of a local choir and a theatre group, in Malmö, Sweden, where I now live. I enjoy directing and performing in plays with an English-language theatre group. I like to dance salsa to energise and practise yoga for relaxation.
Tutor Experience
I have been a teacher of English Literature and Language for 15 years. My love of literature is at the base of my passion for teaching. I love exploring texts from all over the world and finding a variety of ways to analyse and explore the global issues, relationships, characters and language.
I taught GCSE and A-Level in England for 3 years, before moving abroad to teach in International Schools in France and Sweden. I love the IB curriculum and have been teaching the English A Literature and Language and Literature courses for 12 years. I have mentored students of all abilities from many different backgrounds. I enjoy finding the right approach for each individual student, according to their abilities and areas for improvement. Progress is always possible!
Topic Expertise
I have taught GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature for AQA and WJEC exam boards in the UK. I am proficient in preparation for all coursework and exams.
I am very experienced with all forms of assessment for IB English A Literature and Language and Literature courses - The Individual oral, Written Assignment and my students always do especially well in the paper 1 and paper 2 exams. I have coached students on how to identify global issues required for the newer areas of the curriculum.
