About Me

Hi! I am a recent Chemical Engineering graduate from Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, USA), currently pursuing a Masters in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy). I am very passionate about teaching STEM subjects related to Engineering such as Chemistry, Maths and Physics. I am a US-Spain double citizen, and speak both English and Spanish.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for three undergraduate engineering courses :

1) CHEMISTRY OF MATERIALS (for 4 semesters) :
-Atomic Structure, Bonding and Intermolecular Forces, Structure of Crystalline Solids : Metals and Ceramics, Polymer Structure and Chemistry, Defects in Solids, Phase Diagrams, Properties of Materials : Electrical, Mechanical and Thermal

2)THERMODYNAMICS, FLUID DYNAMICS, HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER (for 3 semesters):
-Phase Properties of Pure Substances (Equations of State, Steam Tables, PTv diagrams), Energy balances in Closed and Open Systems, Entropy, Thermodynamic Cycles (Heat Pumps, Heat Engines, Refrigeration Cycles).
-Fluid Statics, Bernoulli Equation, Internal Flow (Laminar and Turbulent, Moody Charts), External Flow (Drag and Lift Forces)
-Steady state Heat Transfer (Conduction, Convection, Radiation), Heat Transfer through Finned Surfaces, Transient Heat Transfer (for Lumped Systems (low Biot number)), Forced Convection for External and Internal Flow


3) SEPARATION PROCESSES (also known as UNIT OPERATIONS) (for 1 semester):
-Binary and Multicomponent Distillation, Liquid-liquid extraction, Gas absorption and stripping, Adsorption, Membrane Separations (Gas Membranes, Reverse Osmosis, Pervaporation). All of these techniques where analyzed in terms of equilibrium and mass transfer. ASPEN Plus was the main software used.

*The position in courses 1 and 2 involved preparing a weekly 1-hour class in which concept review and problem solving was done. In addition, holding office hours and exam grading was done.


AP Examinations : I am familiar with the STEM AP Exams, and while being a student took Calculus AB, Chemistry, Spanish Literature and Spanish Language, I received a score of 5/5 in all.
