About Me
My first degree was in history, and I still love flicking through dusty, old archives delving into the past. I have done extensive local history research in the town where I was born and am currently writing a book about it.
My other passions are reading, gardening, and dancing. I also love spending time with my grandchildren although this is not as often as I would like as I now live in France. My husband and I have converted two barns into gites and built a swimming pool in the last two years. I am now very pleased to return to teaching and grow my online tutoring business.
Tutor Experience
This past year I have been working as an online tutor for both children and adults. I have taught GCSE English students helping them to gain better grades in their resits and summer exams. I have also helped students who have dyslexia including a child who was struggling to read and an adult who was training to be a primary school teacher. My fifteen years experience in both schools and adult education has been invaluable to me. Equally, my qualifications and experience as a Specialist Dyslexia Tutor have helped all my learners.
I take the time to get to know my learners – I assess to identify strengths and areas for development, I learn their preferred learning style and finally I discover their likes, dislikes and aims in life. This allows me to tailor my teaching to the individual whether that is helping them pass GCSE or learning to read.
