I act as a 'guide' to my students, helping them to learn maths using their own thinking, thus making sessions a shared learning experience.

Outside of tutoring and teaching, my current interests are in the use and abuse of statistics in Big Data and Machine Learning. I follow sport, especially international cricket, enjoy pottering in my garden weather permitting and going for walks in the forest.
I believe that a good tutor combines teaching and mentoring in a way that encourages students to use their own thinking and ability, set their own ‘agenda’, ask questions and then works with them to improve their self- confidence and ability in the subject.
I have degrees in Mathematics, Statistics and a postgraduate certificate in Teaching. I focus on teaching Mathematics and Statistics at Advanced, Foundation and University levels to a variety of students.
I teach A-level Maths and Statistics at school and also tutor students studying for AS, A2, IB exams under various boards (OCR, OCR/MEI, Edexcel, AQA, MAT/STEP, GRE). Topics covered with students:
Core Maths (Y1/AS & Y2 A-level) - covering Pure & Applied (Statistics & Mechanics)
Further Maths . I have certificates from MEI for teaching Further Maths across all syllabuses
Further Statistics
Further Mechanics
Statistics A-level (Edexcel, AQA, OCR)
I have taught courses in Maths and Statistics at University level. I have tutored University level students on topics covering:
Probability and Statistics,
Statistical Inference / Mathematical Statistics Theory covering classical statistics (point estimation, interval estimation, hypothesis testing, Bayesian inference, decision theory)
Stochastics Processes/Models
Time Series Analysis
Regression Analysis - Simple, multiple, Logistic(Binomial), Log (Poisson) models
Linear Statistical Models , Generalised Linear Models
Quantitative methods for Economics & Business students

I've had a great learning experience in Bob's class. He has a knack for explaining complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand. He's not only a knowledgeable tutor but also a very accommodating person. I highly recommend his lessons to anyone seeking a convenient and effective learning experience.
Very helpful completing the exam question together and revising exponential and weibull models
Very good session. Thank you!
This was my first class and it was very helpful - he explained step by step and also made sure to use figures to make it easier for me to understand the concepts. Thank you!
Made Annika feel bad at maths and did not help.
Very helpful. I have messaged a testimonial.
Very helpful with insight on a difficult topic.
Lesson was very helpful
I enjoyed the class and found it useful.
Very helpful. Making progress with R gradually.
I have taken several classes of statistics with Mr. Virender, who has helped me to understand the basics and to scale up to understand the subject necessary to do this subject in a Master's degree. Professionalism on the part of the teacher and predisposition to find the best way to adapt to the good tutoring of the subject. In addition, the recordings of the classes were very helpful, as well as the tools used on the virtual blackboard.
Victor, student at ESMT Business School, Berlin
Virender was very helpful for studying linear regression, inference., GLM and Survival Analysis modules for my masters in medical statistics. He allows you to guide the session by asking questions prior to the session so that he can prepare and answer the questions.
He also encourages questions throughout the hour session which made me feel very comfortable to ask when I’m not sure and it helped me to learn.
I would definitely recommend Virender as a tutor for MSc Medical Statistics.

Hey Virender! I hope all is well! The LSE system uploaded my provsonal grade into the system. With a bit of maths I can see I get about a 57%!
In terms of miracle grades it's pretty amazing how much you helped me! This means I ended up obtaining my MSc in Statistics !!
Robbie (LSE Masters Student)
Virender was extremely helpful and patient with me, particularly on some difficult material that I encountered in my statistics course, and seemed to come to an understandable explanation no matter what I threw at him! I would not hesitate to request further lessons from Virender in the future. Thank you again. Best wishes, Sean

Virender (Bobby) Verma is an exquisitely competent teacher who never fails to explain a concept or question. He has been instrumental in aiding me to understand key topics that I had difficulties wrapping my head around. He has been able to do the same with exercises which I would get stuck on, effortlessly going through them whilst explaining each step of his working. Thanks to Bob, I have improved my performance by two grades, going from a C to an A. Overall, I would highly recommend you choose Virender (Bobby) Verma to be your next maths tutor.
George - A-level Maths student
Virender (Bobby) Verma was an unbelievable help in developing my exam technique and gave me a huge boost in confidence. I found covering more complex questions with him really useful as we quickly identified any weak spots in my approach, and this made me become quicker and more efficient with my problem solving. His tutoring helped me to decide the best approach to a problem before answering it.
Overall I’m very thankful for having Bobby as my tutor and I recommend him to anyone taking the Further Maths course.
I achieved A* grades in my Maths and Further Maths, gaining a place to study Mathematics at Warwick University, UK.
