About Me
Katarina is a native Mandarin speaker. She is able to understand Cantonese as well. She uses both traditional and simplified Chinese characters. Katarina studied at top universities and got full studentships.
Katarina loves to help students achieve their goals in study. She is a professional teacher with more than 15 years teaching experience for IB, IGCSE/GCSE , A level, AP and Ancient Chinese subjects. She used to work for an international school in Hong Kong and had three years full-time homeschooling teaching experience for a Swedish family (3 students age between 11 and 15). She also worked as a university tutor at School of Chinese (HKU) for 2 years. At the moment, she is a full-time private tutor.
She used a variety of teaching methods in the classroom, such as grammar-translation, the communicative approach and task-based learning. She also helped her students enhance their memory. In her spare time, she likes to cook and train her birds to talk.

I have profound understanding of different curriculum, including IB (A HL/SL, B HL/SL), CIE & Edexcel A/AS level, IGCSE (native/second/foreign), Edexcel GCE and AP. I used to work as an IB examinor to mark and moderate grades.

Achievements:
Worked with students to improve their IB grades to gain entry to the School of Medicine (HKU & CUHK). Helped students to have deep understanding of set texts in A/AS level exams and get A*.
I also have experience in helping students with SEN such as ADHD.
