About Me
I've always wanted to be a teacher. I tutored my younger relatives, some of my friends and family friends during school and it felt wonderful to see that somebody else understood a concept when I explained it.
Growing up I most enjoyed reading, drawing and making crafts (I still do!). With my love of teaching others and the fondness I had for the subject of biology, becoming a biology teacher meant I could do all those while teaching and share my love for biology with others and build their interest in the subject. I've been a qualified biology teacher since 2013.
Tutor Experience
I’m a qualified teacher who has taught Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) Biology from 2013 onwards. I’ve worked as a teacher, the head of the biology department, and as one of the leading teachers in the largest A Level only high school in the Maldives. I have had the opportunity to carry out many biology camps for students from other institutions, and it's almost always the same areas that students have trouble with. I’ve been tutoring for over 6 years. From mid-2020 onwards all my tutoring has been online. I've found that tutoring online allows students who are too shy to speak face-to-face to be more likely to contribute to the class.
Topic Expertise
I've taught Edexcel IAL biology for 8 years, so I'm an expert in any content area covered within the syllabus.
Since the Edexcel Bio A specification is the same as the old IAL specification taught till 2019, I am thorough with it as well.
As for Edexcel Bio B, most of the topics are covered in the new IAL syllabus so I will be happy to go through any of the topics too.
