Experienced tutor and official examiner.
Big improvements are often made with small steps and students will go far once they realise that a little bit more effort every day makes a huge difference over a year. This is the attitude I try to encourage in all my tutees as regular effort quickly removes the stress.

Economics interests me because it is one of the best ways to inform ourselves about why the world is the way it is. I enjoy tutoring this at A level because even if students aren’t hugely interested in it, they have a lot more insight and interest than they think they do, simply from being part of society. It's great to encourage this interest and also learn from their observations.
Students who imagine that the work is unpleasant may be surprised at how much better they feel once they start taking charge and making progress. This is the attitude I try to encourage in all my tutees. Even if the work isn't always 'fun', it can definitely be rewarding.
In economics, the fundamentals must be taught with an eye on good technique which is focused on achieving all of the assessment objectives which are necessary for a high grade. Receiving feedback from me on practice questions will be the best way to make progress and having been an official examiner, I know that this pays off.
I have taught students of all abilities. Not everyone can finish with an A* but, in my experience, *every* student can make big improvements with a bit of focus and encouragement.
In my free time I enjoy reading, walking, exercise and (good) comedy.
Tutor, teacher, and official examiner.
I have tutored economics for many years and have also taught it at a private 6th form tutorial college for a couple of years.
My work as an official examiner in A level economics has given me an invaluable insight into what the examiners want to see as well as the most common errors that students can make.
Went through monetary policy and how to write down a chain of analysis.
Good lesson we went through a lot of essay questions
