If there is one law in the universe which stands, it is the following:
Practise makes perfect.
Every master was once an apprentice.
Remember this when you feel frustrated with anything you are trying to learn.

Dear students,
My name is Raphael Ioannides and I am quite possibly the greatest Economics teacher at IGCSE and A-level you may find on the World Wide Web. I am not even exaggerating, I promise.
What? You don't believe me? How about you sign up for a lesson and decide for yourself?
On a serious note now, teaching Economics at IGCSE & A-level is my profession and I am here to share my knowledge with you.
Having taught at the American Academy of Nicosia & The Junior & Senior School; two of the finest private schools in Cyprus, I have the right experience to assist you with the fascinating subject of Economics.
Besides having experience in teaching in the real world; I am also fully capable of teaching online as I am currently tutoring students through the gift that we call the internet.
Expect a unique and efficient teaching style which you will enjoy and will certainly challenge you to improve yourself massively in the subject.
Besides teaching Economics I am also a musician as I play the guitar and I write songs aswell.
If you want to divert the lesson because you need a small break, I suggest you talk about books, movies, football and travel destinations :)
I look forward to teaching you
I began my teaching career as a freelancer delivering private lessons to students who needed assistance with the subject of Economics back in August 2020. This was the beginning of my journey as an Economics teacher and provided a platform which I could improve my knowledge and expertise massively. I still provide such lessons; both online and in person till this day.
In January 2021 I had the opportunity to work in one of the most historic educational institutions in Cyprus. I was employed as a maternity cover at "The American Academy of Nicosia" to teach IGCSE and A-level Economics until June 2021. From then onwards I also taught at another private secondary school from September 2021 till December 2021 again as a maternity cover. I had the opportunity to teach the subject at "The Junior & Senior School of Nicosia".
Having taught at two of the finest private secondary schools of Cyprus has provided me with the right experience to be able to deliver lessons of a high quality and the ability to get the best out of every single student.
The first thing I try to do as an educator is create a disciplined yet friendly atmosphere where students feel comfortable and actually begin to enjoy the lesson. I do my best to ensure that my students have a feeling of positivity towards the subject and adopt the belief of "practise makes perfect".
Combine that with Economic knowledge, excellent communication skills, a and a motivational approach you can get the best out of anyone.
When you have the right attitude and mentality as a teacher; this is transmitted onwards to the students and their academic performance is destined to improve as a result.
My expertise is in the EDEXCEL syllabus I would say but I am fully capable in assisting you with any qualification at this level.
The class with Mr.Raphael was very helpful and informative .We covered chapter 1 and 2 . Overall, a very great teacher
Went over a 15 marker and got great advice on how to improve and where i went wrong.
a pleasant and patient teacher. Helped me a lot with a topic I struggled with for quite sometime (Price Elasticity of Demand). The explanations were easy to understand, and to the point.
very useful, well structured
Went over some questions on market failure and got great feedback !
Very helpful, I understood the 15 marker essay structure much better
covering new topic for next years content, very clear and understandable step by step teaching and help when stuck on larger questions.
Today's lesson on the structure of exam questions was extremely helpful. Raphael brought me through a past paper, evaluated my answer, showed me a top-rate example answer of his own. Then we looked at both the mark scheme and the examiner's report which were super helpful in guiding how I need to help my own students to construct answers using a framework that they can learn and practice in advance of the exams. Working with Raphael has been great and now I can look forward to my summer and so can he!
We did questions of economics growth
Very useful discussion of exam technique using past papers.
