I am an enthusiastic and passionate English teacher from London. I gained GTS in the UK in 2020 and have been working at an international school in Budapest since 2021. Hoping to help students and encourage them to love English!

I was brought up in South East London, but have also studied and worked in Singapore and Budapest. I have taught both the UK GCSE and iGCSE English curriculum, and pride myself on being an engaging and fun teacher. I have 2 rescue cats (one of which only has three legs!) and in my spare time, I enjoy watching films, especially horror, and riding my bike.
June 2020 - gained QTS and a PGCE from an OFSTED outstanding provider in the UK
September 2020 - July 2021 - English teacher at a fantastic school in Leeds, UK. Teaching the AQA English Literature and Language GCSE curriculum as well as KS3.
September 2021 - current - working as an English and EAL teacher in Budapest, Hungary. Teaching the Pearson iGCSE Literature curriculum and creating the Year 7 SOL.
My approach is centred around the specific and personal needs of the student. I am able to adapt my teaching to the interests and strengths of the student, and I believe that I am able to get any student engaged in English.
I love to make English relevant to students and to present it as almost a puzzle that needs to be solved. Whether it's diving into the thousands of possible interpretations of a poem or using language to persuade and convince, I use model answers, revision tasks, and fun challenges to show that English should be exciting and never boring!
I am a very strong KS3 teacher (years 7, 8 and 9) who can help with any tasks that students have been given.
I also have experience teaching the AQA GCSE Literature and Language courses as well as the Pearson iGCSE Literature course.
With a First Class Honours degree in Journalism, I can also advise and help students who may be studying for A-Levels in Media or Film.
