I am a university lecturer and researcher in the field of engineering. My research field is robotics, in particular, the use of robotics in renewable power plants. I supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students. Here are some of the topics that my students are working on:
- Design and build a kit that can electrify any skateboard. The kit should be affordable and easy to install, with a 5 km range.
- Develop a robotic arm that will be part of a beach cleaning robot. The robot will use computer vision to identify pieces of trash on the beach.
- Build a multicopter drone that can stay airborne for at least an hour. The drone will use the Pixhawk flight controller.
I enjoy the outdoors and playing PS4 with my kids.
I am working as a lecturer and researcher at a Department of Mechanical Engineering. I teach several subjects such as mathematics and applied mathematics, programming (C, C++, Python, Matlab, Simulink), technical drawing, control systems and robotics. I furthermore guide students in analytical writing of reports and theses.
I have been involved in several initiatives at the university to implement new technologies in online learning. The latest project uses a computer algebraic system in applied mathematics. The system shows problems to students and gives them immediate feedback on their answers. It also gives them the opportunity to retry a problem after getting some hints.
I have tutored technicians in the industry and I am daily tutoring my kids and their friends.
