About Me
I started teaching 18 years ago as an EFL teacher in Italy where I taught adults. On my return to London I taught mixed nationality classes. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others and decided to move into mainstream education where I gained the skills to teach children Maths and English to both native English speakers and children with English as a Second Language.
After almost 10 years in school, I wanted to broaden the way I taught and decided to tutor.
I found that I could have more impact on a pupil's learning in a shorter space of time.
I myself found Maths particularly difficult, but it was a fantastic teacher who turned the subject around for me. Now I have the pleasure of turning English and Maths around for others whatever their goal.
I love swimming and am currently doing Couch25K. My exercise helps burn off all the calories as I also like cooking and trying out new recipes!
Tutor Experience
I am a fully qualified teacher with 18 years experience in independent and mainstream schools in Key Stages 1 and 2. I have a sound knowledge of teaching practices and strategies for developing a good understanding of the basics in Maths and English. I have experience in preparation for 11+, SATs, KS 3 Maths and helping children who need support and confidence in their daily studies. I have tutored for 9 years covering Key Stage 1, 2 and 3.
