About Me
Hello, I am Claire. I am from the North of England and have worked in schools in England as well as in an International School in Shanghai as Head of Science. I am consistently observed as an outstanding teacher and have a proven record of my students making excellent progress and achieving the top grades. I enjoy to tutor because it allows me to create a really unique learning experience for each student and also to see them achieve their potential.
Tutor Experience
I have tutored for over 8 years now, both face to face and online. I have taught IB Chemistry (both HL and SL), A Level Chemistry (AQA and OCR specification), GCSE (Cambridge IGCSE, AQA and Edexcel). I tailor all my lessons to the individual and their needs to maximise their progress and enjoyment of the lesson. All my tutoring lessons are planned with lots of resources, with a particular emphasis on exam questions and technique.
Topic Expertise
I have a MSc in Clinical Biochemistry and a MChem in Chemistry with Pharmacology. I have taught IB and A level Chemistry and GCSE Chemistry and Biology. I have a good record of receiving the top grades for my students and the students I have taught have gone on to study at some of the top Universities in the world (including Cambridge, Oxford and Kings College London). Four students out of a class of 7 in my last cohort of IB higher level students achieved a level 7!
