I've graduated from The Queen's College, Oxford with First Class Honours in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. During my studies I held the Sir John Hicks scholarship for economics, and the Michel Scholarship for sustained academic excellence. I am currently enrolled in the Oxford MPhil programme in Political Theory.
I specialise in Maths, Economics and Oxbridge Admissions, supporting students through their GCSEs, A-Levels and university applications. I have over 150 hours of international teaching experience, and have tutored both online and in-person, including giving catch-up tuition to those that have missed out on teaching due to the pandemic.
Unlike most PPEists, I have studied all three branches for my Finals exams. This broad academic background allows me to guide and develop my students' individual interests, and help them foster a genuine passion for the subject, a crucial part of any application. It also means that I can provide tailored Personal Statement support and interview advice across the discipline.
I love music, singing regularly in choirs and playing alto sax in jazz bands.
During my time as an undergraduate studying PPE (2018-2021), on numerous occasions I have helped admissions tutors in my college to formulate interview questions (they sometimes ask for students to take mock interviews to make sure that the questions are clear). This gave me an insight into the admissions process from the tutor's perspective.
Using this knowledge I have provided PPE Admissions tuition both online and in-person, providing expert help with Section 1 and 2 of the TSA, both privately and on behalf of some select elite institutions, such as Harrow School. I have also delivered personal statement workshops and structured packages of interview support.
Since graduating, I have spent a year as a full-time professional tutor, with clients such as a professional Champions League footballer, and children of major world leaders. I have thousands of hours of teaching experience, and can quickly adapt to each individual student's needs.
I have also provided free online tuition in Maths and English to secondary school children from disadvantaged backgrounds so that they could catch up on lost teaching due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This gave me experience of the online format, using Zoom and an interactive whiteboard.
Over the Summer of 2019 I taught English at BOB College, Shantou, China. I taught for over six hours a day to classes of over thirty students, receiving a TEFL qualification based on 150 hours of teaching. Since I was just teaching in English (speaking no Mandarin myself), and my students were often beginners, the experience taught me to explain complex concepts in clear terms, a crucial skill for any tutor. While placed there I also provided one-on-one interview preparation for a number of students applying to universities like the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
My teaching specialities are in TSA preparation, Oxford PPE preparation, and Maths and Economics A-Level.
I also have specific academic interests in political philosophy, the history of political thought and ethics.
Great knowledgeable, patience tutor. Wifi had some issues.
Recording doesnt show faces, its blank, just have audio. But class tutoring is 5 stars : )
