I am a capable economist, with particular interests in Microeconomics and Econometrics. I have been tutoring fellow students and colleagues in econometrics since my undergraduate degree in 2015, and have also had experience in providing feedback for Dissertations to undergraduate and post-graduate students.
I find that I am effectively able to teach complex technical subjects like econometrics to students that don't have as much of a technical background of myself, and have found myself able to provide good feedback to colleagues and students on essays and dissertations without expert knowledge in the subject of the essay.
My other interests in Economics include Behavioural Economics and other interdisciplinary subjects, although I am not very experienced in them. My thesis concerns the Water Industry, and as of late I have also been gaining an interest in Environmental issues in Economics, as they pertain to water quality.
I have done one-to-one and small-scale tutoring since my undergraduate degree in 2015, and in a limited capacity earlier during my A-levels. During my BSc, I also ran a few seminars for fellow students, covering a second-year Mathematics for Economics module, and some topics in a third-year Advanced Microeconomics module.
I have taught MSc Econometrics during my MSc, for students achieving an economics qualification bridging from other degrees, such as Finance. In Autumn 2022, I also taught first-year Undergraduate Microeconomics as a seminar instructor, which was based on introducing the subject to students of various backgrounds, as well as introducing students to effective presentation skills and essay-writing skills.
I have also presented workshop lectures to fellow PhD students and other tenured faculty, on topics that pertain to my PhD thesis, which have been well-received by attendees.
In qualifying for my TEFL and HEA Associate Fellowship qualifications, I have also gained a good, proven understanding of how to teach to students effectively, and I am actively engaging in pedagogy to improve my teaching further as I aim to qualify for higher fellowships in the future.
